Business Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for the daily operations of the coding/billing, medical records, new patient coordination, and scheduling teams. Partners with the Revenue Cycle Manager to ensure cohesive and effective workflows from the point of patient referral through the lifecycle of a claim. Support the executive team in assessing strategic business opportunities and develop recommendations. Collaborates with other members of the leadership team to develop, plan, and implement new data-driven programs and initiatives. Systematically approaches the coordination of people and workflows to provide clarity to teams and accomplish goals.

Essential Job Functions

Leadership
  • Provide day to day leadership to the coding/billing, medical records, new patient coordination, and scheduling teams
  • Provide feedback and coaching to support work outcomes and professional development of each team member
  • Ensure teams have the tools, knowledge, and work environment to succeed in their job duties
  • Collaborate with the CFIO to identify, capture, and keep track of team goals & KPIs
  • Establish a roadmap for goal capture
  • Ensure highly effective and efficient workflows are continually refined and result in high value patient experiences
Business Development
  • Perform assessments of business opportunities and initiatives
  • Assess quality, activity, and financial data to identify internal opportunities for improvement
  • Make data-driven recommendations for discussion with the executive team
  • Ensure all elements of business, regulatory, and contract compliance are documented and met at all times
  • Oversee business record keeping practices
  • Collaborate with all members of the leadership team to provide program and project development and implementation expertise and support

 

Job Qualifications (including education and experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, or related degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in healthcare setting
  • 3+ years’ experience in leadership
  • Expert in MS Excel
  • Experience using data analysis tools
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to project a professional image and present information to leadership
  • Ability to make sound professional decisions
