Full-Time Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

Oregon Oncology is looking for a compassionate and caring Medical Assistant/Clinic Support. This position provides professional care for clinic patients under the supervision of the daily physician or advanced practice provider(s). Facilitates daily schedule management including rooming patients and completing accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record.

Job Functions Include:

Medical Assistant
  • Performs medical assistant procedures under supervision of physician or advanced practice provider
  • Assists physician and advanced practice providers in exam rooms
  • Escorts patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in the electronic medical record
  • Captures all pertinent documentation required to meet internal and external reporting requirements
  • Gives instructions to patients as instructed by provider
  • Ensures the schedule and medical records are prepped for the day including having all related reports, labs and ancillary information available at time of the appointment
  • Keeps exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintains instruments, and prepares sterilization as required
  • Takes and responds to telephone messages from patients, physicians, pharmacies, and other ancillary services
  • Triages and processes messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
  • Equipment sanitizing
  • Referrals for Hospice/Home Health/Palliative Care/Cardiopulmonary/Interventional Radiology
  • Assists in bone marrow biopsies

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant
  • Must have strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software
  • High School Diploma
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work with a diverse patient population
  • Manage multiple changing priorities in an effective, organized manner
  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments and knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR and scheduling software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oncology clinic experience ideal
