Dr. Raed Benkhadra began his career with research training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he later completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Evidence-Based Practice Center. His time at Mayo helped shape a strong foundation in evidence-based medicine and clinical research. Dr. Benkhadra has authored and co-authored numerous publications, which can be viewed on Google Scholar.
He went on to complete his internal medicine residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UT Health San Antonio. His training provided a broad foundation in internal medicine and the multidisciplinary care of patients with cancer and blood disorders. His clinical interests include breast cancer, head and neck cancers, genitourinary cancers, lymphomas and benign hematology.
Dr. Benkhadra was drawn to oncology by the combination of complex medical decision-making and the opportunity to develop meaningful, long-term relationships with patients. He also values being part of a rapidly evolving field where advances in treatment continue to create new possibilities for individualized care.
His approach to patient care is compassionate, collaborative and evidence-based. He strives to care for the whole person, not just the disease, and works closely with patients and their families to make informed decisions that reflect their individual goals and values.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Benkhadra enjoys traveling, exploring new cultures and discovering great food along the way. He is also a passionate soccer fan, especially of Real Madrid, and enjoys staying active and spending time with family and friends.
